Structural Self-Locking Cylinders

This cylinder incorporates a double lock valve mounted directly on the cylinder’s body. Its’ functionality is relative to hydraulic fluid power (flow) through the Directional Control valves that operates these cylinders. When the control valve handle is manually operated, the cylinders are either extended or retracted and movement occurs; when the control valve handle is released, movement stops and the cylinder is hydraulically locked in that position.

Time Saving/Easy Handling:

Traditional post-locking/pinning requires the driver set the pins on all posts, both right and left sides, relatively guessing good vehicle clearances… If not, you know the next step, raise the ramp, re-position all pins, and try again, lower the ramp.

With these self-locking cylinders, one smooth operation and all at the valve stand; pull or push the handle and release while standing in place. No additional action is required, thus the auto-lock system improves the speed of loading (and un-loading; no pins to move or re-set) the equipment.

Safe:

Eliminates the need to walk on/or under ramps and around the unit during the pinning process.

Introduced in North America in the mid-2000s, the auto-lock cylinders have a proven track record worldwide, especially in Europe, Russia, and the Middle East.
